For my final photo I wanted to capture something that held sentimental value to me and what better than my baby brother? It was quite difficult shooting him because he kept moving and flinching, causing the image to blur and the camera to shoot at the wrong time. It was also a bit frustrating since the shot kept getting delayed due to his diaper needing to get changed, his hunger arousing, his tiredness kicking in, etc. I have a newly found respect for photographers who shoot babies because IT IS really hard, even though you'd think since they're practically the definition of adorable it'd be easy.

For this image, I used natural lighting since I didn't want to damage his eyes from possible use of a strobe light or any light in general. This was actually taken after he pooped and my mom had to give him a bath and she didn't have the chance to change him or put on his diaper yet.

I think this is my favorite image I've taken all year.
I'm quite fond of soft tones and over exposed photos with a desaturation of colors, but unfortunately I never really had time to explore that side of photography due to my senior exhibition. For this image I wanted to capture nature and beauty. The flowers in her hair are meant to contrast with the background and her white dress compliments the colors. The only thing I don't like about this photo is the trees in the back. I would rather have the dead grass filling the whole background, but that could easily be fixed in photoshop. I used a gold screen to highlight her face a bit more, but other than that it's all the sun's work.

Overall, I like this image. The model looks as beautiful as the girls I see in magazines, and the image itself, minus the background, is just beautiful.

My mom and her boyfriend are my idol couple. Everything about their relationship is so natural and real. This photo was meant to capture them candid intentionally to portray how natural their relationship is. I don't know if it's just because I know them so well, but even if they aren't kissing, I can still feel the love present in this photo. Just naturally entwining hands can capture love, too.

3rd Theme, Food

I was inspired by Julia Toy and her incorporation with food and complimentary colors. By incorporating complimentary colors with the food, it makes it look aesthetically pleasing as much as it is deletable. These were actually spontaneous shots I took while out gallivanting and munching on food, so this theme was fun to compose because I got to chow down afterwards.

2nd theme, Parents.

I wanted to capture the moments before my little brother came, when their love was still ripe and at it's peak. It was a bit difficult because my Mom naturally posed when she would see a camera, and in order to capture their love, I believe it had to be natural instead of intentional. These were my favorites.

I've been going through a state of depression this month due to my lack of inspiration and failure to create adequate ideas. I started feeling distant from the world and myself. Somehow, I conjured up the inspiration and, using my feelings, portrayed them through this image. By having her in an awkward position, it further emphasizes the tension of this photo. The smoke represents her soul, and how it's traveling out of her body. I might re edit the smoke, since I want it to go towards a more realistic feel, instead of a cartoon one.

By having the source of light particularly on one side of the image and the rest of the image dim, it portrays my 'coming into light.' Although I'm still struggling, I'm slowly reaching enlightenment. The way her body is positioned helps to portray a yearning since it's up but not directly erect.
