3rd Theme, Food

I was inspired by Julia Toy and her incorporation with food and complimentary colors. By incorporating complimentary colors with the food, it makes it look aesthetically pleasing as much as it is deletable. These were actually spontaneous shots I took while out gallivanting and munching on food, so this theme was fun to compose because I got to chow down afterwards.

2nd theme, Parents.

I wanted to capture the moments before my little brother came, when their love was still ripe and at it's peak. It was a bit difficult because my Mom naturally posed when she would see a camera, and in order to capture their love, I believe it had to be natural instead of intentional. These were my favorites.

I've been going through a state of depression this month due to my lack of inspiration and failure to create adequate ideas. I started feeling distant from the world and myself. Somehow, I conjured up the inspiration and, using my feelings, portrayed them through this image. By having her in an awkward position, it further emphasizes the tension of this photo. The smoke represents her soul, and how it's traveling out of her body. I might re edit the smoke, since I want it to go towards a more realistic feel, instead of a cartoon one.

By having the source of light particularly on one side of the image and the rest of the image dim, it portrays my 'coming into light.' Although I'm still struggling, I'm slowly reaching enlightenment. The way her body is positioned helps to portray a yearning since it's up but not directly erect.
